Thank you for interest in a MTEI membership! 
The club strives to assure members are good cyclists, possess basic cycling knowledge and are committed!
Prospective Members Must:
- Be 18 years of age or older. 
 
- Be able to efficiently cycle a distance of 20 miles with a minimum average speed of 14 miles per hour.
 
- Must complete five (5) rides with a MTEI leader within 12 months.
 
- Demonstrate the following essential bike maneuvers while cycling:
-Left and right turn signals
-Stop signal
-Looking over left and right shoulder to check traffic while cycling
-Be able to safely utilize either hand while drinking from a water bottle 
- Demonstrate the removal of front/rear tire to repair a flat tire.
 
- Must attend one (1) cycling event per calendar year.
 
A Prospective Member Must Agree To MTEI Code of Conduct:
- Maintain membership in good standing (pay dues, participates, volunteers). 
 
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude when cycling and wearing MTEI kit. 
 
- Always represent MTEI to other cyclists in the spirit of Major Taylor. 
 
- Have fun but avoid behaviors that may embarrass MTEI or jeopardize MTEI or its members. 
 
- DO NOT Poach sponsored rides. 
 
- DO NOT Litter. 
 
- DO NOT Engage in illegal activities. 
 
- DO NOT Be discourteous to other cyclist with language or actions. 
 
- DO NOT Openly disrespect any MTEI rider or other cyclist based on their ability level, experience, race, age, or gender.
 
 
Benefits of Membership
- Participation in all scheduled rides with ride leaders who map out special routes and ride “sweepers” for anyone who might need help along the way.
 
- Participation in all social activities planned by the club.
 
- Training clinics during the year.

- Bicycling advocacy and education.
 
- Explore the many bike trails in our region.
 
Membership is Annual: April 1 to March 31! Don't forget to renew each year! All applicants must be over 18!
